Jackie

My name is Jackie, I’m a Junior at High Tech High International and am doing an internship at SD Floral Design in Old Town January 8 - February 7. This is my fourth week here and I’ve learned so much already. From making flower arrangements, to observing independent business management to gaining an efficient work ethic. I’ve grown so much and feel a lot less intimidated about looking for jobs and helping out at the shop because of how much freedom and trust I’ve been given here. I’ve done lots of things completely new to me and not necessarily in my comfort zone but went in with an open mind and accomplished them. My time here has been amazing and I know my time management, creativity and responsibility has improved significantly. One of my favorite memories was when we had finally cleared off the counter only to put 20 more vases of fresh flowers on it a few minutes later. As soon as we cleared it off we all joked that it wasn’t going to stay clean for long and laughed a lot when Matt brought in a boatload of more plants. We have shared excitement, stress and relief together and form a pretty amazing team working together and I could not be more grateful to work with both of them.
