A Little Touch of Black Magic.....
A few days ago I received a request for a custom arrangement that was literally up my alley...
The Inspiration for the design was the cover of Tomi Adeyemi's instant New York best seller book.
The color scheme was dark and mysterious - red, black, and deep purple, with a hint of lavender. This was a floral interpretation of the novel's cover art work (see picture below)....Needless to say I was beyond stoked.
I first chose black mini callas; they are one of my favorite flowers and their color is dark but rich and full of presence. I used two different colors of freesias, which are fragrant and peppery. The light reds gave a pop of color while the deep burgundy with a yellow tint gave a sense of depth and mystery. Red roses filled out the arrangement, and as you know, are symbolic of love and passion. Burgundy orchids added an exotic and powerful punch, and fuchsia amaranths, along with veronicas, completed the cascading fullness of the design.
This design was a treat to make, and will forever remain as a favorite. It was full, deep, mysterious, and passionate, perfect for a lover or another intense occasion. Take a look here:
